Unreal Editor gotchas.
This is a list on gotchas I encountered while learning the Unreal Engine and Editor. (UE5) I will be updating this page as I learn more.
- Textures for metallic, roughness, occlusion need to have sRGB turned off before adding them to the material. More info...
- "Get Actor Rotation" node does not return proper value when used inside an animation blueprint.
- Add the "Slot - Default Slot" node to you animgraph if you intend to use montages.
- Lights are not deactivate\activated; they are visible\invisible.
- Skeletal meshes are smooth shaded by default (unlike static meshes). To change this set "Import Normals" to "Import Normals and Tangents" in the import settings. More here...
